Perinatal & Postpartum Support

Pregnancy and the postpartum period are often described as joyful, meaningful, and transformative—but they can also be overwhelming, emotional, and deeply challenging. Many individuals experience unexpected changes in mood, identity, relationships, and sense of self during this time.

At Be Well Therapy Studio, pregnancy and postpartum therapy offers a compassionate, non-judgmental space to process the emotional, mental, and relational shifts that can arise before and after birth. Whether you’re navigating anxiety during pregnancy, postpartum mood changes, identity shifts, birth experiences, or the pressures of new parenthood, therapy provides support during a profoundly vulnerable season of life.

Our clinic founder & first-time mom, Nicole, offers health support services designed specifically for new and established parents who may struggle with these transitions. Nicole offers a safe space for you to explore your feelings, manage the demands of parenting, and enhance your relationships with your spouse or partner. Together, we can work towards finding balance and fulfillment during this transformative time in your life so you can thrive, rather than just survive!

Our sessions are held via secure video call, phone call or in-office at our Downtown London studio. Send us an email to inquire about Nicole's availability to accept new clients.

What Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy Looks Like at Be Well

Pregnancy and postpartum therapy at Be Well is tailored to your unique experience, values, and needs. Our therapists create a safe, supportive environment where you can speak openly about your thoughts, emotions, and concerns—without fear of judgment or expectations.

In therapy, we may explore:

  • Emotional changes during pregnancy or postpartum

  • Anxiety, intrusive thoughts, or excessive worry

  • Mood shifts, sadness, or feelings of disconnection

  • Identity changes and adjustment to parenthood

  • Relationship or partner dynamics

  • Birth experiences, expectations, or grief

  • Balancing self-care with caregiving responsibilities

Sessions are collaborative and paced with care. Your therapist works alongside you to help you feel supported, understood, and empowered—whether you’re preparing for parenthood or adjusting to life after birth.

Many clients experience moments of insight as they begin to name emotions they’ve been holding alone. These moments of clarity can foster self-compassion, confidence, and emotional relief.

Common Signs You May Benefit From Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy

Pregnancy and postpartum therapy can be supportive if you are experiencing:

  • Anxiety during pregnancy or after childbirth

  • Persistent worry about your baby or parenting

  • Feelings of sadness, overwhelm, or emotional numbness

  • Difficulty bonding or connecting

  • Identity loss or grief for your pre-parent self

  • Changes in sleep, appetite, or mood

  • Relationship strain or communication challenges

  • A desire for emotional support during transition

Support during the perinatal period can help normalize your experience while providing tools to cope with change, stress, and emotional intensity.

Therapeutic Approaches Used in Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy

At Be Well Therapy Studio, we integrate evidence-based approaches with gentle, person-centered care. Therapy is adapted to meet you where you are—emotionally, physically, and mentally. Your therapist will collaborate with you to ensure therapy feels supportive, flexible, and aligned with your goals.

Common approaches include:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT helps address anxious thoughts, self-criticism, and unhelpful belief patterns that can arise during pregnancy and postpartum.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness techniques support grounding, emotional regulation, and present-moment awareness—especially helpful during periods of heightened stress or overwhelm.

Emotion-Focused & Attachment-Informed Therapy

This approach supports emotional processing, identity transitions, and relationship dynamics during the perinatal period.

Strengths-Based & Compassion-Focused Work

Therapy emphasizes resilience, self-compassion, and validation, helping you reconnect with your inner strengths during a demanding life transition.
