I'm Ashley!

I'm Ashley! I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a previous clinical practicum student of Be Well Therapy Studio. I am currently working as a Contract Therapist at Be Well and am excited to support you on your mental health journey!

 

In addition to being a dedicated mental health advocate, I have a diverse background that includes working in various work environments, including sports and childcare. I believe in the power of active listening and collaborative discussion to foster positive therapeutic relationships. As a previous competitive figure skater, I relate to the challenges, emotional experiences, and life transitions that come from being involved in the sports world, and I'm open to supporting you as you may find yourself navigating those very same journeys.

My educational journey began at Laurentian University, where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with Honors, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. To further enhance my knowledge and skills, I am currently pursuing a Master of Counseling Psychology at Yorkville University.

Throughout my professional development, I have acquired valuable certifications contributing to my holistic approach to mental health care. I completed an Emotional Intelligence Certification Program at Western University, which has allowed me to enhance my self-awareness and effectively collaborate with others. Additionally, I obtained a Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB) Certification, enabling me to handle crises and understand escalating behaviour levels.

My passion for supporting individuals extends beyond mental health care. I am also a certified Mental Game Coaching Professional (MGCP). This certification has equipped me with the tools to teach athletes mental toughness, overcome barriers, and foster confidence, focus, and teamwork.

I prioritize offering high-quality, consistent, comfortable, and accessible mental health care. Drawing from my personal experiences with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, panic attacks, transitional life stress, and body image issues, I share an understanding of the mental and emotional toll these challenges can have on our lives. I have developed a personal "toolbox" of mental health techniques that work to manage these issues through my personal therapy journey. I am happy to explore the many mental health techniques to find what works for you and your unique situation - we are all different! I aim to help others through their mental health journeys, creating sustainable mental well-being.

Therapy can be intimidating for many; therefore, I am dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for clients to embrace their authentic selves and regain control over their mental health. I offer a modern, comfortable, and client-centred approach to therapy.
